Find Your Film co-host Bruce Purkey gives a preview of what is to come for this week’s Find Your Film podcast. How ’bout them Apples????

Bruce Purkey Previews This Week’s Upcoming Find Your Film Episode (#121)

Apples centers on a man who is enrolled in a recovery program that is aimed to help him build a new life. Performing daily tasks prescribed by doctors on cassette tape, he captures his memories with a Polaroid camera. This is Greek writer-director Christos Nikou’s feature debut. The picture is executive produced by Cate Blanchett. The critically acclaimed feature hits theaters June 24.

Dawn Breaks Behind The Eyes centers on a couple whose relationship and sanity gradually deteriorates after they inherit a castle. The gothic thriller hits Digital on June 24. Eric and Bruce have already seen the film!

Bruce is a huge fan of Peter Strickland (In Fabric, The Duke of Burgundy). Thus, he has been eagerly awaiting his latest feature Flux Gourmet. If you’ve seen any of Strickland’s movies, then you know to expect a certain level of abstraction coupled with striking visual compositions.

Check out the trailer, as well as our Find Your Film episode discussing Strickland’s work, below:

If you tell me there is a Western starring Thomas Jane and Gabriel Byrne, then that is a no brainer watch for me. Murder at Yellowstone City hits theaters, Digital and On Demand June 24.

Bruce’s “What’s in the Box” pick is Eye of the Cat, a movie suggested by The Long Walk filmmaker Mattie Do. Mr. Purkey asked Do for a few comments regarding the movie:

“There are SO so so so, so many cats it’s wild and so often, what is considered “cat acting” is probably cats being tossed or thrown onto the human actors,” said Do. “The plot, while a bit crazy and over the top, did end up being thrilling, and it was quite unexpected. I loved that seeing a cat glaring at the screen could be so sinister… like, all the time. Haha.”

Check out Eric Holmes, Bruce Purkey, and Movie Bears Podcast co-host William Lindus talking to Mattie Do for The Long Sip, Chapter 1:
