CinemAddicts Interviews: Daniel André, ‘Running On Empty,’ Simon Phillips, ‘The Mouse Trap’

In the mood for an anti-romantic comedy and/or a Mickey Mouse slasher? CinemAddicts co-host Eric Holmes delivers the goods as he chats with “Running on Empty” filmmaker Daniel André and “The Mouse Trap” actor-writer Simon Phillips. Listen below for more details on these movies!

Running on Empty – Lionsgate

Daniel André directs and writes “Running on Empty,” the story of a mortician named Mort (Keir Gilchrist) who discovers he has less than a year to live. It’s a new technology which enables people to find out when they’re going to die. Upon hearing the news, Mort’s fiancee (Francesca Eastwood) dumps him, leading him to go on a quest for a new companion. The ensemble includes Lucy Hale, Jim Gaffigan, Monica Potter, and Rhys Coiro. I absolutely love the movie, and Eric also gave the film high marks:

“Running on Empty” is now playing in theaters and it hits VOD on August 27th.

“The Mouse Trap” – In Frame Productions

“The Mouse Trap,” directed by Jamie Bailey and starring Simon Phillips as Mickey, is now available on TVOD platforms (including Amazon). The narrative centers on a young woman named Alex (Sophie McIntosh) who is celebrating her 21st birthday at an amusement arcade. A masked killer (Phillips) dressed as a mouse (the Steamboat Willie version) is on the loose, and Alex may not survive another day.
