“Little Brother” centers on Pete (Philip Ettinger), a young man whose attempted suicide leads to immediate action from his father Warren (J.K. Simmons) and little brother Jake (Daniel Diemer). Pete and Jake embark on a road trip from Albugquerque to Seattle for a family intervention. Unfortunately, the siblings are not exactly thick as thieves, and hopefully this excursion will enhance their relationship.
“Little Brother” was honored with the Audience Award at the 2023 Atlanta Film Festival. The picture was partly inspired by writer-director Sheridan O’Donnell’s friend who committed suicide. “I wrote the film to capture their warmth and humor and attempt to understand their mental healthy journey, all of which I hope deeply connects wi th viewers,” said O’Donnell. “We’re grateful to Gravitas Ventures for championing the film and we are thrilled to work with them on bringing ‘Little Brother’ to audiences.”
Gravitas Ventures will release “Little Brother” in theaters, digital and VOD on September 17, 2024.
