Director Peter Hutchings directed Lucy Hale in The Hating Game, and now the pair are back with the romantic dramedy Which Brings Me To You. Nat Wolff (Murder at Yellowstone City) co-stars in the feature which hits theaters January 19. Hutchings talked to CinemAddicts co-host Eric Holmes about Which Brings Me To You, a film he described as a “complete experience.”

Jane (Lucy Hale) and Will (Nat Wolff) are immediately attracted to each other at a wedding. They decide to hook up in a coat room, but their tryst fails after Will expresses hesitation. He wants to get to know Jane a little better, and the rest of the narrative features a whole ton of sharing between the strangers. The ensemble includes Alexander Hodge, John Gallagher Jr., Britne Oldford, and Genevieve Angelson. Based on a novel by Steve Almond and Julianna Baggott, Which Brings Me To You’s script was penned by Keith Bunin.

“I read the script years ago and I loved it so much,” said director Peter Hutchings. “I love these characters. There’s wonderful dialogue, and these characters are funny. They’re also messy and human, and I was really drawn in by their journey.

Hutchings is a cinephile who appreciates a diverse array of movies. That said, the themes behind Which Brings Me To You resonates in a deeper fashion. “These are the movies, though, that I find myself returning to again and again,” said Hutchings. Movies like this – it’s a complete experience. It’s really fun and it’s entertaining, and you laugh, but there are tears and it’s an emotional experience.”

Both Eric Holmes and I recommend Which Brings Me To You. Listen to our review on this week’s CinemAddicts:
