CinemAddicts co-host Bruce Purkey had tons of praise for the new comedy “Bad Shabbos.” Directed by Daniel Robbins (he penned the script with Zack Weiner), the film contains its share of talented actors. Kyra Sedgwick, David Paymer, and Milana Vayntrub are just a small part of what Purkey described as a “likable” ensemble. Check out out his review of “Bad Shabbos” and possibly give this movie a shot!

David (Jon Bass) and his fiancée Meg (Meghan Leathers) are having their parents meet for the first time at a Shabbat dinner. Meg’s folks (John Bedford Lloyd, Catherine Curtin) are Catholics from Wisconsin, so David’s parents (David Paymer, Kyra Sedgwick) must be wondering if this meeting will go off without a hitch. Rounding out the ensemble are Theo Taplitz, Milana Vayntrub, Method Man, and Ashley Zukerman.

Bruce Purkey has a discerning taste when it comes to comedies, and I’m not taking his “Bad Shabbos” praise for granted. For context, he absolutely hated the horror/comedy Milana Vayntrub headlined “Werewolves Within” (which CinemAddicts co-host Eric Holmes and I love). At least he loves Wayntrub’s latest movie!
