Hitting theaters January 12, A Place of Our Own is an Indian drama about two transgender women who are seeking a new home after an unjust eviction. The picture, set in Bhopal, was the Audience Award winner at the SXSW film festival. Check out the trailer below!
Trans women Roshni (Muskan) and Laila (Manisha Soni) are trying to find a new place after their landlord evicts them without any notice. With the harassment and discrimination they face, Roshni and Laila’s journey in finding a roof over their head is not an easy task.
A Place Of Our Own is directed by Ektara Collective, a collaborative group of filmmakers that spotlight. and empowers marginalized communities. Their previous feature was 2017’s Checkmate.
