The Banished - Brainstorm Media

CinemAddicts co-host Eric Holmes and I had a complete night and day reaction to The Banished. I love the movie and gave it four stars and he threw down a two and a half star rating. That said, The Banished was the longest movie discussion we had in months. Most importantly, is this movie for you? Check out our review below!

The Banished – Brainstorm Media

Written and directed by Joseph Sims-Dennett, The Banished centers on Grace (Meg Eloise-Clarke), a young woman who heads to the wilderness to find her missing brother. Her journey leads into a terrifying world that may connect her back to past tragedies and an ultimate reckoning.

The 96-minute tale co-stars Leighton Cardno as Grace’s former teacher Mr. Green. He initially helps Grace venture out into the woods, but due to circumstance she ultimately must face her fears alone. Rounding out the ensemble are Gautier Pavlovic-Hobba, Tony Hughes, and Diane Smith.

Viewers might be disappointed that The Banished’s final act leaves it up to personal perception. I was on board with all that abstraction, and I thoroughly appreciated Eloise-Clarke’s locked in performance. Grace is put through the ringer in The Banished, and the actress knocks the role out of the park.
