If you need a bit more Sandra Oh in your life now that Killing Eve is done, Umma hits Blu-ray and DVD on May 23. The picture marks the feature writing and directing debut of Iris K. Shim.
Umma centers on Amanda (Sandra Oh), a beekeeper who lives a quiet existence with her daughter Chris (Fivel Stewart) on a farm. The arrival of Amanda’s mom (MeWha Alana Lee) from Korea (“umma” is Korean for “mother”) leads to complications. It would be a nightmare for Amanda if her daughter becomes negatively influenced by her grandmother, and since this is a horror/thriller expect a few scares along the way.
Odeya Rush, Dermot Mulroney, and Tom Yi round out the cast in this 83-minute feature (the rating is PG-13).
The Umma digital release is set for May 10. Physical media enthusiasts can purchase Umma on Blu-ray and DVD on May 23. Would love to hear your thoughts on the film once you see it!!
